Since our opening at the start of May we have accumulated a fabulous group of loyal customers who have taken Hemingway’s into their heart and made it their venue of choice for a delicious lunch or dinner. Well, the time has come to introduce our new menu and delight these fans with a new range of dishes to amuse the taste buds.
With all good menus, the dishes change from season to season and with the availability of fresh produce. The initial menu was a light menu with a strong seafood focus and whilst there are still seafood dishes on the menu, the new menu has taken a slightly more carnivorous angle. From a bush spiced kangaroo with horseradish carrot puree, king oyster mushroom and beetroot and macadamia crumb, to a beef cheek with seeded mustard potato cream, baby carrots and pickles, the entrees certainly provide some interesting options for those meat lovers among us.
The mains provide some fabulous new dishes, from a crab pasta with confit tomatoes, lemon, chilli and garlic, to a market fish with a prawn bisque, mixed grains and local Whitsunday prawns – both of which offer a light option for those looking of splash out on three courses. The textures of vegetables has remained for our vegetarian guests with the introduction of a couple of side dishes as well to compliment any of the main or entree dishes.
A new approach is to be taken to desert, with our new in-house pastry chef changing the desert menu from day to day depending on what amazing ingredients he can source. We are incredibly excited to see what he has to offer and can’t wait to hear your feedback on our new dishes. For the full menu – click here.
