Liz Ottey is an inspiring artist exploring the world, who landed in Airlie Beach over six months ago and has made it her temporary home. Originally from Baltimore, Maryland in the US, Liz is currently on her second year holiday visa and is embracing the Aussie way of life.
He favourite food is anything Asian inspired, particularly Thai. If she were to recommend any dish on the menu, she would recommend they added a crab dish from her hometown, which she just can’t wait to try again when she returns from her travels.
Responsible for the stunning Hemingway’s mural in the restaurant, Liz’s artistic talents were discovered by the owner of Hemingway’s completely by chance and we now have a Liz legacy on the wall to remember our smiley American waitress after she travels on to pastures new.
One strange fact about Liz is she survived a rare bodily defect (which we are glad to hear!) and if she was stranded on the desert island her go to equipment would be a knife, tin foil and a rope (very practical Liz).
Liz’s favourite spot in the Whitsundays is exploring Whitehaven Beach and the other beautiful scenery we have in this region. Say Hi to Liz the next time you dine at Hemingways!
